Enabling Globus on Personal Computers
Globus collections on ARCC HPC and research data storage resources enable researchers to transfer data to and from them. However, these don't enable personal computers/laptops that researchers may need to transfer data from. With Globus Connect Personal installed on a personal computer, researchers can then use the Globus File Manager to find their Personal Collctions to transfer and share data to other collections. Globus Connect Personal is how any individual can enable a Globus Collection on their own system. It is a very useful tool to transfer data from your personal or work computer onto remote systems quickly and easily using the same steps as above. Globus Connect Personal is also a cross-platform application that works on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
