Digital Tool Tutorials Home

This website is a collaborative effort between the Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC) in the Research and Economic Development Division and the Digital Scholarship Center (DSC) in the Libraries at The University of Wyoming to provide tutorials on digital tools for research.

How to Use This Site

This website is a "landing zone" for all of the asynchronus tutorials provided by ARCC and DSC. Each tutorial will be linked into distinct categories as needed.

The left navigation provides the links to the categories and tutorial catalogs. The Right navigation provides in-page navigation to headings. This site is designed to provide an "a-la-carte" menu for researchers to use whenever they need information on particular topics.

If you prefer 'Dark Mode' click the 'Moon' icon at the top of the page. To toggle back to 'Light Mode' click the 'Sun' icon while in 'Dark Mode'.

Note

Guidance will be provided on what each tutorial assumes participants will need to already know, but please use your own descretion on what order you would like to learn about multiple topics.

Tutorial Categories

  • Quickstarts

These "Quickstarts" provide only the necessary information for getting started on using the tools provided by ARCC and/or DSC. They do not go into depth on how to use each tool more effectively and are designed to get researchers started on using these tools.

    Get Started

  • Introductory

These introductory tutorials are intended to provide the absolute basics for the topics they cover. They assume participants have no background knowledge of each topic and are desigined to lead into intermediate topics.

    Start Learning

  • Intermediate

These intermediate tutorials are intended to build upon the introductory tutorials and provide more details on what researchers can do with the tools.

    Level Up

  • Advanced

These are not available yet, but these tutorials will provide even more in-depth knowledge on topics presented in the introductory and intermediate tutorials.

    Level Up

Outside of the Quickstarts, each tutorial is a self-contained set of pages that can be copied to your computer and/or anywhere you would want it to live e.g. an HPC cluster.

The tutorial materials are made public so that they can be cloned using git.
